New Blood Bowl Khorne Team- First Impressions
Overall, the models do look good. If I had one complaint, it would be that a few of them look more like AOS miniatures than Blood Bowl miniatures, but I'm excited to see the new rules for a Khorne team.
Bloodborn Marauder Linemen |
For me, these are perhaps the weakest part of the set- and the most AOS looking of the miniatures. The heads make a big difference- the top-knot head options wouldn't be for me, but then the models would have identical duplicates. As the linemen of the team, they're solid overall- a 6/10.
Bloodseekers |
I really like the Bloodseekers- they have been sculpted in a way that they look like they're playing a sport, while maintaining some of the distinct Khorne aesthetic. The poses have some good dynamism to them- almost mirroring the poses of the Bloaters from the Nurgle team. These make it to a 8/10.
Khorngor |
This is my favourite part of the new set. The Khorngor is in a great pose- ready to launch itself forward. I could see this making its way into teams as a converted Werewolf, or a Ulfwerener for the Norse team. I'm looking forward to seeing the stats for these- even if I don't get the Khorne team, I may find one of these for a mercenary player model- 9/10.
It will be interesting to see if the roster ends here, or if the Khorne team will get anything else. It may just end up getting a slightly tweaked Minotaur, or perhaps Games Workshop will release something similar to the Bloodthirster as a big guy. Whatever the case- it's good to see Blood Bowl getting a new release, other than the occasional Star Player- it is almost a year now since the new edition, so hopefully this means we're now on track for some new teams, or plastic kits for the teams of legend very soon.
