League Rules

The Blood Bowl Sevens League uses the Rules from The Official Rules (2020) and Death Zone (2021) with the following adjustments:

  • The Draft- The Draft still happens- but Teams do not roll after every match in the post-game sequence. Instead, at the end of a season, teams will roll a D6 for each player who has a skill on the team, and follow the normal rules for them being removed from the roster. In addition, teams will be refunded 50% of the value of that player, added to the team treasury.
  • Re-Draft- As there is already a chance that the best players in a team will move on at the end of a season- teams aren't required to Re-Draft to a set value.
  • Team Re-Rolls- Teams may purchase further Re-Rolls, to a maximum of 6, even during the league. Any Re-Rolls purchased once the league has started will cost triple of the amount that is listed for the team.
  • Expensive Mistakes- As the teams are dealing with just Coppers- the risk of money in the treasury being lost is reduced. Any result of 'Catastrophe' is replaced by a 'Major Incident.'
  • Treasury- As a result of playing at an amateur to semi-professional level, no team is ever really going to earn that much- as a result of the costs to hire pitches, pay for travel etc. No teams Treasury may exceed 600,000 Coppers. Any money earned further to this amount will be lost whilst the Treasury is full.
  • Star-Players- A small number of semi-professional 'stars' will be available in the league. These will be players constructed via the Mercenaries rules in Death Zone- and available to any team, regardless of Key Word. They may only play once per Game Week (based on a first come, first served basis). Occasionally some lesser Star-Players may make guest appearances in the amateur game (looking at you Akhorne!) for certain game-weeks.
  • Inducements- additional inducements beyond those listed for Sevens games may be used, at the discretion of the League Commissioner. (Why miss out on the fun!?)
  • League Points- Teams receive 3 points for a win, 1 point for a draw and 0 points for a loss. Teams on Equal points will be placed based, in order of preference: Touchdown difference, most touchdowns, fewest conceded and finally record against each other.
  • Playoffs- The top 4 teams at the end of the season will go through to the playoffs. 1st place will play 4th, and 2nd will play 3rd in the Semi-finals. The winners of this match will play in the final itself.
