Puggy Baconbreath Star Player Proxy Kitbash

Sir Puggy

I recently found myself in need of some Star Player support for my Bretonnian team in the new Blood Bowl league. My Grail Knight died game 1...

I have a weird thing where I don't like to use models from one army/team for another army/team. I avoid it as far as possible (except in MESBG, where I have so many different paint + basing schemes, it just becomes impossible to manage) and so, I decided I needed a Puggy for my Bretonnians, despite already owning a Puggy...

Brutefun Puggy can't hurt you...

He just doesn't match the colour scheme or basing for my Bretonnians...*

So, after browsing some expensive options online, I decided- I'd make a Halfling Knight myself- I have a spare Halfling lying around anyway.

Behold, Sir Puggy

I've always liked this Halfling. He gets overlooked, because the alt-head for this sculpt is Gordon Ramsey-Halfling. But the teapot helmet really looks good in my opinion, and an appropriate Halfling attempt at a metal Knight helmet.

To make him Puggy- some shoulder spikes! Puggy has very notable shoulder spikes, and whilst his American Football padding wasn't going to be possible on this miniature, the spikes were achievable.

Puggy loves spikes!

To tie him into the Bretonnian team, I reached into my bits-box, and found a little shield. I have no idea where this came from- but it was the perfect size. Puggy would of course need some knightly-heraldry, and this would help him stand out from the rest of the team as a 'star-player.'

The Halfling Transfer Sheet came in handy.

And then the colour scheme- a nod to the official Puggy, to help identify him clearly- with a 50/50 divide to help tie into the heraldry.

And there we go, Sir Puggy is complete, and ready to play some Blood Bowl. I don't know how often I will need him, but he is there as a cheap option along with Akhorne if I ever need them!

And no, I won't be addressing the 4 year time jump from my last post!

* Amusingly, this Puggy is in my Ogre team's colours... Who can no longer use him! Sorry, Brutefun Puggy, maybe next edition!
